Our story: „Angels with Paws” – The Angels with Paws experience
We are Petre Roman and Dana Roman, and KNES was born out of thousands of hours spent in the service of the most vulnerable souls.
Before laying the foundations of this academy, our hearts beat for years for the Angels with Paws association (AWP Oradea). There, among the hundreds of „angels with paws” rescued from the streets, we learned what patience and hope truly mean. Working with traumatised, frightened or simply misunderstood dogs, we came to a fundamental truth: every dog has a voice; we just have to learn to listen to it. The experience at Angels with Paws was the foundation on which we built everything, the place where we understood that training begins with empathy.
Petre Roman
I come from a world of discipline and self-control, as a veteran of theatres of operations. That period gave me the calm needed to handle unpredictable situations and the ability to guide with firmness and kindness. Wanting to give my work a scientific backbone, I chose the academic path at USAMV Cluj-Napoca. I am currently a master's student in „Ethology and Human-Animal Interaction”, where I study the biological mechanisms of canine behaviour. For me, training is not about „command”, but about a dialogue based on respect between human and animal.

Dana is our balance and our constant care. As a veterinary technician, she makes sure that the biological foundation of every learning process is a healthy one. Years of volunteering and dedicated work at Angels with Paws have given her a rare intuition – Dana senses a dog's needs before it expresses them. She is the one who guarantees that at KNES, the animal's safety and wellbeing always come first.
