C.L.A.R.

The KNES Neuro-Behavioural Rehabilitation System

Beyond training. The C.L.A.R.® methodology does not focus on „fixing” the dog through mechanical commands, but on restoring the biological, neurological and communicational balance of your shared ecosystem. It is a systemic process built on four immutable pillars:

The C.L.A.R.® system produces neurologically balanced partnerships. Our goal is a stable dog that chooses to cooperate because it understands the architecture of the environment it lives in and has absolute trust in its human's guidance.

C

Concentration

Keeping the cortex engaged in complex environments.

Concentration refers to the dog's ability to stay anchored and focused regardless of the level of distraction in the environment. The aim is to keep the prefrontal cortex active (engaged) so that information can be processed, preventing the sensory overload that would force the dog into the survival mode governed by the amygdala (impulsive reactions of panic or aggression). Without this state of mental presence, learning is impossible.

L

Leadership

Reshaping perception through competence.

Leadership in the KNES system is a set of actions and tactical procedures designed to radically reshape the dog's perception of the person beside it. The dog needs absolute safety. We teach the owner how to manage the environment so as to be perceived as the most capable guardian, police officer and manager of resources. Once the dog recognises this complete leader, its need to take control out of survival instinct disappears, making room for cooperation.

A

Affection

The strategic use of physical contact.

Affection is not merely an emotional gesture; it is a clinical tool. We mean the use of touch and massage in specific areas to build trust and counter-condition the natural fight-or-flight reflexes. We desensitise the dog to stimuli such as direct eye contact, touching the croup or the femoral artery area. Through precise techniques (e.g. ear massage), we stimulate, in a controlled way, the production of the neurotransmitters essential for balance: endorphins, dopamine, serotonin and oxytocin.

R

Patience

Strengthening reason over instinct.

Patience refers to developing the dog's capacity to wait and to control itself. Through specific working protocols (such as the RIT/RIS exercises – Patience in Time / Patience in Space), we build resilience to frustration. We strengthen the dog's ability to choose reason over primary instinct and consolidate its absolute trust in the human, showing it that a calm state is the only way to obtain resources or resolve a situation.
